It's my birthday eve once more, and I am alone. Theo just brought me my clean laundry from the basement and we chatted for a bit. He says Sam refers to" the cult of Mom". This shook me a bit.

HAVING AN URGENT TASK TO COMPLETE, A PERSON DOESN'T LOOK TO ANY DISTRACTIONS
This Symbol implies the need for single-mindedness in application. 'Distractions' can lead one astray and waste valuable time, with the end result of not completing what one sets out to do. Indeed you can find yourself not even starting what you need to be starting. Although, with this Symbol around, you can be the type of person who won’t let anything get in the way of completing objectives. The trick is not to get lost in the details. Keeping a list of goals can help focus on what needs to be done. Pushing through with the work, avoiding temptations regardless of what's going on around you will bring the rewards of completion. Stay true to yourself and on the path. One-pointed application. The need for focus. Seeing through to the finish. Maintaining direction. Doing what needs to be done. Housework.
The Caution: Paying attention to outside influences. Letting the slightest excuse take one away from what needs to be done. Rigidity of thought or action leading to missed creative or intuitive opportunities. Obsession. Indulgences. Workaholics. Addictions and destructive behavior. Superficial distractions.
Keywords: Staying true to yourself and remaining on the path or on the job. One-pointedness. Meditation. Blocking out the external world in order to achieve complete focus on a situation or state of mind. Religious experiences. Maintaining one direction. Seeing something through to completion. Taking the phone off the hook. One-eyed behavior. Every man who possibly can should force himself to a holiday of a full month in a year, whether he feels like taking it or not. William James

Germanic Name: Kano

English Name: Opening

Meaning:
Fire often symbolizes intense emotions and passion. However, you are reminded that passion, like everything else, has two sides. Excessive passion could lead to destructive obsession, but on its positive side it can lead to creativity. A clarity of intent in your attitude is required in order to avoid falling into its negative side.

In the area of relationships, Kano announces a mutual opening. The torch of understanding is lit again for both, and the creative power of such fire could lead to great breakthroughs.
